JUDGING PROCESS: Contest has two (2) Rounds of Judging
One winner will be selected for each MLB Club, based on favorite MLB Club designated by each Contestant.
Round 1: Each eligible Entry received during the Contest Entry Period will be judged by Sponsor based on the following equally weighted judging criteria: First essay: 1) personal and professional accomplishments, 2) passion, 3) presentation, and 4) overall appeal; Second essay: 1) military service and acts of heroism, 2) passion, 3) presentation, and 4) overall appeal; Third essay: 1)contribution to the community, 2) passion, 3) presentation, and 4) overall appeal. The three essays will be judged equally to each other. Up to ninety (90) top scoring Entries, three (3) per MLB Club, will advance to Round 2 of the Contest as potential "Finalists." In the event of a tie, the potential Finalist, from among the tied Entries, with the highest score for overall appeal will advance to Round 2. In the event of a further tie, the potential Finalist, from among the tied Entries, with the highest score for presentation will advance to Round 2. In the event of a further tie, Sponsor will re-judge the tied entries based on overall appeal and, at the Sponsor's sole discretion, select a winning Entry. Sponsor reserves the right to advance fewer than ninety (90) Entries to Round 2 if, in its sole discretion, an insufficient number of eligible and/or qualified Entries are received.
Round 2: After potential Finalists are determined, each potential Finalist will be contacted by the Sponsor and/or its designated agent on or about May 24, 2013. Each Potential Finalist (i.e. Nominee) will be required to execute, notarize and return an Affidavit of Eligibility (or, if a resident of Canada, a Declaration of Eligibility), Grant of Rights & Release of Liability and, unless prohibited by law, a Publicity Release ("Affidavit/Grant/Release") within five (5) days from the date of notification. In addition, at the Sponsor's discretion, potential Finalist will be subject to a background check, including but not limited to, criminal history. To the extent required by law, each potential Finalist shall authorize such background check. and Sponsor reserves the right, in Sponsor's sole discretion, to disqualify any potential Finalist based on the background check. In the event that any potential Finalist is a minor in his/her state/province of residence, the Affidavit/Grant/Release, and any other document required to be executed by the Winner under these rules, must be executed by both the potential Finalist and the potential Finalist's parent or legal guardian. If the Affidavit/Grant/Release is not returned within the time allowed, the potential Finalist will be disqualified and the potential Finalist with the next highest score may be declared the alternate Finalist. Any potential Finalist from Canada will be required to pass a skill testing procedure in the form of an additional essay, explaining in fifty (50) words or less why they enjoy being a fan of the major league baseball team of their choice. Essay will be judged against other such essays based equally on: 1) enthusiasm; 2) presentation; 3) overall appeal. All Finalist Entries as determined by Sponsor will be posted at www.tributeforheroes.com so that the general public can view each Finalist Entry and vote on their favorite Finalist between the period beginning on or about 12:01 AM ET on June 9, 2013 and ending at 11:59 PM ET on June 30, 2013 (the "Voting Period"). The 30 top Finalists (one for each MLB Club), with the most number of votes during the Voting Period will be declared Contest winners (each a "Winner" and collectively, the "Winners"). In the event of a tie, the Finalist (from among the tied Entries) with the highest score for overall appeal will be declared the Winner. In the event of a further tie, Sponsor will re-judge the tied entries based on overall appeal and, at the Sponsor's sole discretion, select a winning Entry.
