The Toronto Blue Jays Opening Day is a tradition like no other. Thousands of loyal fans come to usher in the start of a new season and cheer on the Jays as they compete against baseballs best.

Opening Day Giveaway
The Blue Jays will be giving all fans a 2009 Fridge Magnet Schedule, courtesy of the Toronto Star. This Fridge Magnet Schedule features the Blue Jays 2009 season schedule along with a picture of manager Cito Gaston. Magnet Schedules will be given away postgame to all fans.
Potential Starting Pitchers
Blue Jays ask fans to arrive early for Opening Ceremonies
While game time between the Blue Jays and Tigers is set for 7:15 p.m., the opening ceremonies will begin after 6:45 p.m. The Blue Jays ask fans heading to the game, to arrive early as lineups are expected to develop at ticket windows and the entrance gates. Fans are also advised lights in the stadium will be turned out to begin the opening ceremonies. The gates at Rogers Centre will open at 5:00 p.m.
National Anthems
The Blue Jays take pride in being Canada's baseball team and are thrilled to have The Canadian Tenors, Victor Micallef (Toronto), Clifton Murray (Port McNeill), Remigio Pereira (Quebec) and Fraser Walters (Vancouver) perform the National Anthems. Since their debut in 2007, The Canadian Tenors have criss-crossed the globe performing more than 200 concerts thrilling hundreds of thousands of music lovers. This vocal sensation combines classical and contemporary pop to bring us some of the most beautiful melodies. The Canadian Tenors unique repertoire is sung not only in English and French but also in Spanish and Italian reflecting their multicultural heritage and establishing the group as an international success.
Colour Guard
Canadian and American soldiers from the 22nd Wing of the Canadian Forces Base of North Bay will be presenting the colours for opening night. The 22nd wing, also know as the Canadian Air Defence Sector, provides surveillance, identification, control and warning for the aerospace defence of Canada and North America as part of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command).
