In 2011, this luxury suite will host more than 3,000 children and youth each year from community organizations and charitable groups around the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Special thanks Shikatani Lacroix for donating their time towards the design and to Urbacon for renovations.

ROOKIE LEAGUE EQUIPMENT DRIVE

Rookie League Celebration

For the past 23 season, the Jays Care Rookie League program has been providing opportunities for physical fitness, health & nutrition education, and life-skill development through baseball skills, drills and tournament games. In addition to our signature program in the GTA, this season Jays Care Foundation partnered with Boys & Girls Club of Canada to expand Rookie League across 10 cities and 7 provinces in Canada. Rookie League has the potential to serve over 40,000 children and youth in Canada!

In 2011, the signature Rookie League program in the GTA hosted more than 800 kids from 33 different Toronto Community Housing neighbourhoods to participate. Toronto Blue Jays players J.P. Arencibia, Rajai Davis and Ricky Romero each served as honourary captain to one of theRookie League divisions, while head coach, John Farrell, serves as honourary coach. Plus, volunteers from the Blue Jays and Rogers Centre family, provided participants with valuable baseball skill development instruction, while emphasizing the values of teamwork, partnership, and cooperation in life beyond the baseball diamond.

You can become a part of the Jays Care team in 2011! Get involved this Rookie League season by purchasing equipment, supporting a child or making a donation!
