FIELD OF DREAMS R.F.P. GUIDELINES & PROJECT CRITERIA

Field of Dreams

Field of Dreams funding proposals may include, but are not limited to, the building of new infrastructure, improving existing spaces through structural enhancements, and increasing activation of the spaces to provide effective, efficient and feasible solutions.

Proposals may also address the provision of capital investment in equipment or other furnishings that contribute to the programming capacity of the space.

Improving existing spaces that accommodate activity and community recreation to ensure that they are accessible, inclusive, and appealing to all young people is an integral part of the criteria.

Examples of projects may include:
  • Multipurpose recreation spaces
  • Sports fields
  • Computer/media lab equipment
  • Areas inclusive for small children and families (i.e. playgrounds linked to youth space)
Letter of Inquiry Deadline:January 31, 2012
Invited Proposals Submission Deadline:March 30, 2012
Amount of Funding Available:Up to $150,000
(multi-year projects may be considered)

FIELD OF DREAMS REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS

STEP 1: SUBMIT A FIELD OF DREAMS LETTER OF INQUIRY

A letter of inquiry must be submitted to determine whether the project meets the basic criteria of Jays Care Foundation's Field of Dreams program. Submissions should not exceed three pages in length. Please include the following information in this order:

Organization Information
  • Mission statement, goals and objectives, and a brief summary of the organization's history
  • Description of current programs, activities, accomplishments, and number of people reached
  • PLEASE NOTE: Applications for improvements to City of Toronto facilities must be submitted by the City of Toronto on behalf of the community organization. Purpose of Funding
  • Amount of funding requested
  • Description of the project, including: goals, objectives, issues to be addressed by the project, demographic reach, and benefits to the community
  • Description of how the funds will be allocated and long-term funding strategies
  • Description of the manner in which the support of Jays Care Foundation will be acknowledged
Mail five (5) copies of Letter of Inquiry to:

  • Toronto, ON M5V 1J1

Letters of Inquiry for the March 30, 2012 application deadline will be accepted until January 31, 2012. Response to Letters of Inquiry will be made by Jays Care Foundation no later than February 28, 2012. Should your organization be invited to submit a formal proposal, the deadline for receipt of the final proposal is March 30, 2012. Letters of Inquiry received after January 31, 2012 deadline will need to apply in 2013.

STEP 2: SUBMIT A FIELD OF DREAMS PROPOSAL

If your organization is invited to submit a formal proposal, you will be required to submit information that will create a better understanding of the project and how it corresponds to the mandate and evaluation criteria of Jays Care Foundation. You will be required to submit five (5) copies of the completed proposal, including any supporting documentation and materials, by March 30, 2012.

STEP 3: PROPOSAL REVIEW PROCESS

Proposals will be reviewed by Jays Care Foundation and you may be contacted for a follow up meeting to discuss your proposal. Jays Care Foundation's Board of Directors will review all recommendations and determine which project(s) are to be funded. Funding will be awarded in the fall of 2012 and all applicants will receive written confirmation of the status of their proposal following the decision of the Board of Directors.
