Luke Hochevar came up from Triple-A Omaha and gave the Royals what they needed to end their eight-game slide, with 6 2/3 strong innings. The Kansas City bats responded in the fifth, as Mark Teahen hit a two-run homer, and Willie Bloomquist tripled with the bases loaded.
