The Los Angeles Dodgers today acquired infielder Alberto Callaspo, left-handed reliever Ian Thomas, minor league right-handed pitcher Juan Jaime and left-handed pitcher Eric Stults from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for infielder Juan Uribe and right-handed pitcher Chris Withrow, who was on the 60-day disabled list. Callaspo will be in uniform for the Dodgers tonight, wearing No. 5, while Los Angeles optioned Thomas to Triple-A Oklahoma City, assigned Jaime to extended Spring Training in Arizona and designated Stults for assignment.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced the signings of Cuban infielder Hector Olivera to a six-year contract and Cuban right-handed pitcher Pablo Fernandez to a minor league deal. The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced the April winners of the Dodger Pride Awards, which are being classified into three categories: "Strong Mind Pitcher of the Month," "Strong Mind Position Player of the Month" and "Strong Mind Teammate of the Month." The winners of the pitcher and position player of the month are selected based on a strict statistical method incorporating several baseball measureables, including best first-pitch strike percentage, best 1-1 count strike percentage, best overall strike percentage, best walk-strikeout ratio, best swing percentage on strikes and lowest chase rate. The teammate of the month is voted on by players, coaches and staff.

Major League Baseball has announced the winners of the 2015 Honorary Bat Girl contest, which recognizes baseball fans who have been affected by breast cancer and who demonstrate a commitment to eradicating the disease. The Honorary Bat Girl for the Dodgers is Clara Gonzales of Los Angeles. Gonzales was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in May 2014. Ten days after her diagnosis, she faced unemployment and lack of health insurance. Gonzales was able to receive support from the Komen Breast cancer society and began chemotherapy and radiation treatment. She is a life-long Dodger fan who wore Dodger blue and a Dodger wig during chemotherapy sessions and despite her illness, attends games regularly. Gonzales will throw the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 1:10 p.m. game against Colorado on May 17. She will also be presented with a customized jersey by Majestic Athletic and an engraved full-sized pink bat from Louisville Slugger.
