Call upheld after Gibbons' ninth-inning challenge
After 29-second review, umpires rule McDonald safe at first base

TORONTO -- John Gibbons used a manager's challenge in the top of the ninth inning in the Blue Jays' game against the Angels on Sunday.
After Los Angeles third baseman John McDonald hit a one-out chopper up the middle, shortstop Jose Reyes flipped the ball to second baseman Steve Tolleson, who made the forceout at second and attempted to turn a double play.
The throw to first was late, and McDonald was ruled safe. Gibbons signaled from the bench that he wanted to challenge the call, and after a 29-second review, the call on the field was upheld.
