Weather forces postponement of Blue Jays-Twins

MINNEAPOLIS -- The scheduled game between the Twins and Blue Jays on Wednesday at Target Field was postponed due to inclement weather, and it will be made up as the second game of a split doubleheader on Thursday.
With cold temperatures and snow in the forecast on Wednesday, the Twins announced the game would be postponed more than seven hours before first pitch. The game will be made up at 7:10 p.m. ET on Thursday, while Thursday's day game will be held as originally scheduled at 1:10 p.m.
Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey had his start pushed back from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon. Toronto's No. 1 starter should benefit from the slightly warmer conditions that will come with a day game. The severe cold this week in Minnesota could have a major impact on the knuckleball and its ability to have late movement. Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson will start in the day game on Thursday as originally scheduled.
Right-hander Dustin McGowan will take the mound for Toronto in the series finale Thursday night. Minnesota righty Mike Pelfrey, who was slated to start on Wednesday, was pushed back a day to start Game 2 on Thursday night.
