General manager Alex Anthopoulos, manager John Farrell and players J.P. Arencibia, Brett Cecil, Casey Janssen, Brett Lawrie, Ricky Romero and Eric Thames were on hand.
Toronto also announced a donation of $10,000 through the Jays Care Foundation to the hospital for the purchase of a much-needed neurophysiological monitor.
The neurophysiological monitor is used to monitor brainwave activity, primarily in children with seizure disorders. This portable unit will allow real-time interpretation of the physiological signals and is a high priority for the Pediatric Medical Imaging Department.
The Winter Tour will continue on Thursday with a planned trip to visit military personnel at CFB Halifax and aboard HMCS Toronto in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Later that evening, Arencibia, Cecil and Thames will be joined by Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar for an autograph session prior to the Halifax Mooseheads vs. Drummondville Voltigeurs QMJHL hockey game.
The Tour wraps up on Friday with a trip to St. John's, Newfoundland. The club will visit the Ches Penney Family Y and hold an autograph session at Avalon Mall.
