Burnett sharp against Triple-A squad

Right-hander strikes out three in two scoreless innings

Blue Jays at the plate: Vernon Wells went 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Reed Johnson finished 1-for-2 and scored a run. Alex Rios reached on a line drive single.

SkyChiefs at the plate: John Hattig had the only hit for Syracuse with a double off the left-field wall.

Blue Jays on the mound: Starter A.J. Burnett looked impressive in two innings of work against the Triple-A squad. The right-hander didn't give up a hit while striking out three and walking one. It was Burnett's last outing before being place on the 15-day disabled list.

Gustavo Chacin started for the SkyChiefs. The southpaw gave up two runs and five hits in five innings pitched in facing his big-league teammates. Reliever Scott Schoeneweis pitched one hitless inning.

Up next: Roy Halladay will start against the Twins on Opening Day on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
