The Toronto Blue Jays have completed their coaching staff for the 2008 season after hiring Hitting Coach, Gary Denbo. Denbo, 47, joins the Blue Jays from the New York Yankees organization where he was the Roving Hitting Coordinator. This is his second Major League position after serving as the Yankees Batting Coach in 2001.

Denbo played four Minor League seasons in the Cincinnati Reds organization after they selected him in the 17th round of the 1983 free-agent draft. In 206 Minor League games, from 1983 to 1986, the Princeton, Indiana native hit .208.

Following his playing career, spent four seasons in the Reds organization from 1986 to 1989 as Coach and as Manager for Greensboro (A) in his final year. Then joined the Yankees organization in 1990 where he served as a Manager, Coach, Instructor and Assistant Director of Player Development prior to his promotion to the Major League club. After one season in New York, left the Yankees and served as a scout for the Cleveland Indians and then as a Coach for the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League, before returning to the Yankees in 2006 as their Roving Hitting Instructor.
