  • Astros Enter Upcoming 10-Game Homestand with Top Record in Baseball

    The Houston Astros, who enter the homestand with the best record (29-12) and winning percentage (.707) in Major League Baseball, return home for a 10-game homestand against the Cleveland Indians (May 19-21), Detroit Tigers (May 22-25) and Baltimore Orioles (May 26-28). At 29-12, the Astros are off to their best 41-game start in franchise history, a full 2.0 games over their second-best start of 27-14 in 2015. The Astros lead the American League in several offensive categories, including hits and total bases, while ranking second in batting average and runs scored. The pitching staff leads the league in ERA, strikeouts and opponent batting average and have allowed the fewest runs. Through the first quarter of the season, the Astros have won 70% of their games, joining some select company, as three of the last four teams to do so went on to win the World Series in their respective years.

  • Astros Foundation Literacy Bus to Make Stops Throughout Houston This Week

    The Astros Foundation, Phillips 66, and HISD are partnering to send the Literacy Bus on the road to distribute age-appropriate books to children in grades K-5 at various schools and city-owned baseball and softball parks renovated by the Astros Foundation as part of its Community Leaders program. These parks are located within HISD boundaries and serve more than 1,200 Houston-area children each year. More than 20 parks have been renovated as part of the Community Leaders program since its inception in 2013. The Literacy Bus is a mobile interactive unit that will encourage family reading in Houston-area communities.

  • AT&T Sports Networks' ROOT SPORTS to Provide Live Streaming of Astros Games

    ROOT SPORTS and the Houston Astros are now streaming in-market Astros games for authenticated pay TV subscribers. As part of an agreement with MLBAM (MLB Advanced Media), Astros games will stream at no additional cost to authenticated pay TV subscribers of ROOT SPORTS distribution affiliates who have chosen to participate including DIRECTV and Consolidated Communications. Streaming will also be available for AT&T U-Verse subscribers soon. Fans can find the Astros broadcast schedule at www.astros.com/broadcast.

  • Astros announce Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for April

    The Houston Astros player development department has named OF Kyle Tucker the Astros April Minor League Player of the Month and RHP Franklin Perez the Astros April Minor League Pitcher of the Month.

  • Keuchel Wins American League Pitcher of the Month

    Major League Baseball announced this afternoon that Houston Astros left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April.

  • First-Place Astros Kick Off Lone Star Series Against Texas Rangers

    The division-leading Astros, who own the second-best record in the American League, return home for a seven-game homestand against two division rivals. Houston has gone 10-3 against division opponents thus far in 2017, and hosts the Oakland A's for three games (April 28-30) and the in-state rival Texas Rangers for four (May 1-4). The Astros have been one of the hottest teams in the Majors of late, winning 10 of their last 13 games.

  • Astros Battle LA Angels for Top Spot in AL West in Upcoming Homestand

    The Astros return home on Monday for a four-game, weekday series against the AL West rival LA Angels of Anaheim, April 17-20. The two teams are currently tied for the top spot in the division, and both have been off to hot starts in 2017. After taking the four-game Opening Series from the Seattle Mariners at home, 3-1, the Astros traveled to Seattle and won their first road series against the Mariners, 2-1. Both the Astros and Angels have made short work of their divisional opponents, going 5-2 and 6-4, respectively.

  • Astros Look to Continue Momentum Against Kansas City Royals This Weekend

    Following tonight's game against the Seattle Mariners, the first-place Astros take on the Kansas City Royals for three games this weekend, April 7-9. The undefeated Astros are off to an incredibly hot start in 2017, going 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2001. In those three contests, Astros pitchers have only given up three runs or fewer in each game, a feat the club hasn't accomplished since 1997.
