Spring Training tickets can be redeemed for Friday's World Baseball Classic games at Chase Field
$5 tickets available for Friday games if Cactus League games are rained out
PHOENIX, Mar. 7, 2013 - Given the inclement weather forecast for Arizona on Friday, fans holding a valid Spring Training ticket for a game taking place on Friday, March 8, are able to purchase a ticket to a World Baseball Classic game for $5, while supplies last. Fans must show their ticket for the rained out game to the Chase Field box office to take advantage of the $5 ticket offer. Both games, Team Italy vs. Team Canada and Team Mexico vs. Team USA, are taking place at Chase Field.
Team Italy will take on Team Canada at 12:08 p.m. Italy, who on Thursday defeated Team Mexico 6-5 in dramatic fashion in the first game of the pool, features Major Leaguers Jason Grilli, Nick Punto and Alex Liddi, the first Italian-born and developed Major League player. Team Canada features past Most Valuable Players Justin Morneau and Joey Votto.
Later in the evening at 7:08 pm, Team USA will play its first game of the 2013 tournament against Team Mexico. Team USA features reigning Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey as well as past Most Valuable Players Ryan Braun, Joe Mauer and Jimmy Rollins. Team Mexico is led by four-time All-Star Adrian Gonzalez and Sergio Romo, member of the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants

The World Baseball Classic, which is officially sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), will for the first time in 2013 be recognized as the official national team World Championship, with the winner being crowned the 2013 World Baseball Classic Champion and the IBAF World Champion. The World Baseball Classic is being televised by 39 international broadcasters in 14 languages in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.
