Deals at Comerica to give added value
New promotions planned for '09 will hand fans a break at park
The Tigers announced a new lineup of deals and promotions at Comerica Park designed to give fans more value at games during the 2009 season, as well as two new dining attractions to the ballpark and a new gate policy.
Among the deals is the Super Spring Special, discounting advance-purchase mezzanine tickets to $10 for all home games in April other than Opening Day, as well as Monday-Thursday games in May. The All-American Deal on those same April and May dates packages together an upper-box ticket with a hot dog and soft drink for $22. A new $5 adult meal deal at all Big League Grill stands includes a hot dog, chips and soda. Discounts will also be available on a merchandise item during each homestand.
Before fans arrive at the ballpark, they can take advantage of discounted parking. Spots are available for $5 in lots M, R, P and Q on Columbia between Cass and Grand River.
New specials for kids include a slew of giveaways. Every Sunday home game will feature a giveaway item for kids ages 14 and under, starting with a PAWS magnet schedule this Sunday when the Tigers host the Rangers. Every Sunday Kids Day game will feature a bicycle giveaway to four lucky kids who register at the Kids Club kiosk near Gate B. In addition, kids can play an interactive baseball card game called Pack Attack near Gate B before every Sunday home game. Kids can also play tee ball in the same area at every game. The $5 kids meal at the Big League Grill locations now includes a PAWS finger puppet to go with a hot dog, chips and a juice box.
Two changes have taken place on the restaurant roster. The previous Montgomery Inn location on the right-field deck is now the Labatt Blue Light Jungle Bar, a sports theme bar that features 119-inch HD televisions and 65-inch plasma TVs. In addition to entering through the ballpark, fans can enter through the Adams Street entrance.
Meanwhile, the Brushfire Grill is now the Fox Sports Detroit Brushfire Grill, where FS Detroit will broadcast its pregame and postgame shows.
Both locations will open two hours prior to game time, as will the Tiger Club, Tiger Den and Beer Hill, Champions Club and suite levels. Stadium gates will open an hour and a half before game time.
New ballpark offerings include a super slice deep dish pizza from Little Caesars, as well as a kid-size pizza slice and a veggie dog. A special promotion for Opening Day on Friday will be a fish fry at the Big League Grill locations at sections 143 and 151, the Sidekicks stand in the Big Cat Court and the Great Fry stand in section 336.
