This Day in Baseball History:
January 16, 1974 > Former New York Yankee greats Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford are elected to the Hall of Fame. The powerful Mantle was a three-time MVP winner and clubbed 536 home runs in his career. Ford, the "Chairman of the Board," won 236 regular season games and a record 10 more in World Series play. The two were teammates for 15 years.
