Comments: Smoker is another in what appears to be a deep high school lefty crop in this year's draft class. With an average fastball, a consistent slider and an aggressive mentality on the mound, Smoker should be among the top southpaws taken and looks like he could carry a lot of innings in the future. Comments: Frazier was drafted three years ago, but he honored his commitment to Rutgers, following in his brothers' footsteps. He's had a very productive year at the plate, showing power and run production ability even though Rutgers has hit him out of the leadoff spot. He'll change his place in the order as a pro just like he'll likely change his spot defensively, from shortstop to either third or a corner outfield position. Considering the dearth of college bats in this class, it's hard to imagine he'll last long on draft day. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: After missing the first chunk of the season with a fractured ankle, Borbon returned on March 20. The key for him was to show that his best tool, his speed, had returned, and he was beginning to do just that, though the extra-base pop scouts saw last year and over the summer wasn't there consistently. Pure center fielders with leadoff skills are not numerous in this draft, so Borbon still should garner plenty of early-round consideration. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: While there are often college seniors who make very good pros, it's rare for there to be one like Mortensen, a legitimate "prospect" on the rise in his senior season. He's got three usable pitches and a body frame that appears able to handle added strength, which could make his fastball even better. He should be a very intriguing senior sign this summer. Comments: Teams are always looking for catching and d'Arnaud was moving up the charts some in his senior season. His defensive skills may be among the best in the draft class. Where he goes in the draft may depend on how much people think he'll hit. If he goes high enough, he'll turn down his commitment to Pepperdine, where his brother plays. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Cecil's slider alone will get him to the big leagues. If he can add a changeup to throw to righties, he could close. At the very least, he could become a very good left-handed setup man in a big-league bullpen. Comments: Adkins put himself on the map with a very strong season debut, but had mixed results as the season wore on. He picked it up by carrying a no-hitter into the eighth inning of his SEC Tournament start. He pitches backwards, off of his plus breaking stuff rather than off of his fastball, something that he'll probably learn to reverse as a pro. Whether he's a starter in the future remains to be seen, but with his slider, he at the very least has a future as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Kulbacki had a huge sophomore season when he hit .464 with 24 home runs. He's followed it up with an outstanding junior season, good timing for a year with a weak college hitting class. Comments: Doolittle has excellent hitting skills and should hit well for average as a pro. An athletic first baseman with good hands, his draft status may depend on how much power scouts think he will hit for at the next level. He's a safe, solid draft pick who should have a big-league future. He was a two-way player at Virginia, but most scouts see him as a hitter and not a pitcher. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Jackson has been on the radar screen for a long time, with scouts seeing him many times over the years as they came to TC Roberson High School to see Cameron Maybin. He entered into the season as one of the top prep middle infielders in the class, but has seen his stock fall some over the course of the year. His defense has never really been questioned, but his ability to hit at the next level has. He did finish his senior season strongly at the plate and that could help him come draft day. Comments: Cumberland is one the faster players in this year's draft class and will get a long look from some because of his leadoff potential. He makes good contact, though he'll never hit for power and is simply a solid baseball player who plays the game right. His main drawback is where he fits in defensively, but whether it's at short, second or in the outfield, many think his speed game will play anywhere. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: This is turning out to be a pretty good draft for high school lefties and Vineyard adds to the depth at the position. He has the chance to have a good three-pitch mix with a slider that is an out pitch right now. While there's not a ton of projection to make, he should improve on things like command and fastball movement. Comments: Donaldson really helped himself with a strong Cape Cod season last summer, but there are concerns about whether he'll be able to catch up to better velocities with the loop in his swing. He may improve with more experience as a full-time catcher, but his arm is below average and he does not profile as a premium catch-and-throw guy. Some see a switch to the infield -- he's played third in college -- but he may make for a good backup catcher who plays the game the right way. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Burgess profiles as a future left-handed power-hitting corner outfielder. Comments: The epitome of the command-and-feel right-hander, Roemer has gone through his college career walking nearly no one. While his stuff is average at best, he can control and command three pitches well in the strike zone. He goes right after hitters and is a tough competitor on the mound. Some feel with his stuff, body type and arm action, he'll be a prototypical right-handed setup man, rather than a starter, as a pro. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Heading into the season, the transfer from North Carolina State probably ranked only behind Matt Wieters from Georgia Tech in terms of pure hitters from the college ranks. He's dropped on that list some over the course of the season and didn't show the consistent approach scouts loved when he won the Cape Cod League batting title. Teams that think he'll revert to that player once he's hitting with wood again will take a shot on Mangini, but it likely won't be quite as highly as originally anticipated. Enhanced Scouting Report

Comments: Fellow Canadian Phillippe Aumont has been getting most of the buzz, but Lotzkar deserves some as well. He's got an intriguing power package with a fastball/slider combination. Comments: A draft-eligible sophomore, Hunter is a big right-hander with a chance to have a good three-pitch mix. Right now, his command is below average, but like his stuff, there's projection for improvement. With a bulldog approach on the mound and an above-average fastball, some might see him as a bullpen guy down the road, but he also could evolve into a back end of the rotation guy. Comments: After spending last year starting behind Tim Lincecum, Hagadone became Washington's Friday night starter to begin the year. He was moved to the bullpen after two starts because of team need and has been oustanding for the Huskies, showing the ability to save games and pitch multiple innings. With a chance to have a good three-pitch mix, some teams may want to move him back into a rotation once drafted, but worst-case, they'd have a pretty good lefty setup man on their hands. Comments: Bachanov is a relative latecomer to the "draft prospect" stage. It's clear he has some things to learn in terms of mechanics and mound presence, but the arm strength scouts love is definitely there. His inconsistencies all year will keep him from going as highly as his size and stuff might dictate, but teams will perhaps be intrigued by his power arm after the first round.
