Orioles in Sarasota

About Sarasota 365

The Orioles' presence in Sarasota County goes well beyond baseball and Spring Training. Our year-round philanthropic OriolesREACH initiatives embrace youth activities, charitable causes and civic priorities. We manage and maintain two top-flight, multi-use sports facilities for shared hometown uses. And our local staff lives and works here full time.

O's Receive Philanthropy Award

The Association of Fundraising Professionals -- Southwest Florida Chapter honored the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates with the association's Outstanding Corporate Partner award at the National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon in Sarasota on November 12. In announcing the award, the organization noted that the individual philanthropic achievements of both ballclubs are "so numerous with such far-reaching impacts that either organization would be a worthy recipient." The Orioles and Pirates "crossed county boundaries and put aside their fierce rivalry to provide the funds, volunteers and leadership required to build the Miracle League of Manasota adaptive ballfield. By doing so, they changed lives and motivated others to get involved."
