ALS Awareness Day

ALS Awareness DayIn partnership with Major League Baseball, each year the D-backs host ALS Awareness Day at Chase Field. The D-backs invite representatives and clients of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the ALS Association Arizona Chapter and ALS TDI to Chase Field to help raise awareness about ALS and to honor the courage and strength of all those battling the disease. A special pre-game celebration is dedicated to the day, 4-ALS pins are handed out at the entrance gates and informational tables are set up on the concourse.

Jackie Robinson Day

Few people have meant more to the game of baseball - and America for that matter - than Jackie Robinson. By breaking baseball's color barrier with his historic debut on April 15, 1947, the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer helped pave the way for equal rights for every United States citizen. Our goal is to continue to recognize this momentous event that changed the social fabric of America. Every year on April 15th, our game honors Jackie's legacy by celebrating his inspiring life, values and accomplishments.

Roberto Clemente Award

Not long after recording his 3,000th career hit, Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente died in a plane crash while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Clemente exemplified baseball's unique responsibility as a social institution and its ability to improve people's lives. MLB and the D-backs celebrate Clemente's dedication to public service while recognizing players' efforts to give back to their communities. Roberto Clemente Day was established in 2002 to increase awareness of the Roberto Clemente Award presented by Chevy, and particularly to the local recipients and their efforts in the community.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Our goal is to increase breast cancer awareness and early detection while raising funds to support breast cancer research. In seeking a cure for this all-too-pervasive disease. MLB and the D-backs stand with the countless women and their families affected each year.

Prostate Cancer HR Challenge

The Home Run Challenge encourages fans to pledge money for each home run hit during the week of Father's Day to benefit PCF. Our effort seeks to communicate the importance of early detection and generate funding for ongoing research.

PLAY Campaign

The D-backs team up with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society each year to host 100 youth at Chase Field to teach them valuable lessons regarding the importance of exercise and the dangers of steroids. The children learn exercises from the D-backs training staff and participate in a question and answer session with a D-backs player about the importance of living healthy.
